Last Friday the allotment group decided to take a walk around the site. It was really interesting to see what's happening on other peoples plots, We focussed on looking at how other allotmenteers were harvesting water, composting, ponds and bird tables as these are our four priorities over the winter months.
We ended up having a long chat with the Beekeepers who we're over tending their hives. They kindly showed us the frames inside the hives. In a short space of time we learned so much about bees. For example, they should be 'sleeping ' at the moment but if the temperature reaches 10 degrees even for one day they'll become active again.
