We are really happy to say that we have been able to secure funding from Anglian Community Trust to run two gardening session at the allotment. We are particularly looking people who have had issues with drugs and alcohol but are now looking to make positive lifestyle changes.

Tomatoes galore.....................

I couldn't believe it when we arrived at the allotment yesterday, the tomatoes have really ripen off over the weekend and we had loads ready to pick.  A few had split skins - which I believe can be  due to inconsistent watering.

A group of us braved the heat and went over to the allotment this afternoon. We're already planning for next year and agreed that we should alter the session times according to the season - change to morning sessions in the summer to avoid that middle of the day sun.

Our new shed arrives shortly, with delight I can finally say we have agreed where it's going on the plot.

Watering was a priority followed by seed gathering. We took a well earned break in the shade and then headed off home with some lovely produce: apples, tomatoes, garlic plums and spinach.

Busy weekend....

It was a busy weekend for us. Early on Saturday morning Triss took our entries for the allotment show  over to the Village Hall.

We're pleased to say we did really well, with a couple of highly commended, a first and a second.
The first was for our decorative watering can, which to our amazement and delight also won two trophies.

We spent Sunday at the Purleigh Show. We were pleased it was warm but not too hot. We spoke to a steady stream of people about the project and gave away a few little butterflies on sticks (something we made earlier - in good old Blue Peter Style).

Yesterday was a very busy day. Our regular art and craft session started
at 10.30 - this week the group were drawing in  the style of Lowry. They found a shady spot and set about drawing the Station house, it goes without saying they added  'match stick men'.
After lunch we headed off to the allotment. First job for the afternoon was to weed the tomato bed then on   to lots of watering. Next we started selecting our   entries for today's allotment show.
