Yesterday was an whirlwind of a day. A film crew and Siobhan from the Heritage Lottery Fund came to Burnham to make a video with Angela, a local resident who has joined in with many of our art activities as well as being a valuable supporter of the booklet group.

The crew started off by filming Angela talking her art work from the varied range of Sunday sessions and what she has gained from becoming creative again.

Then it was over to the allotments to film me talking about Create & Flourish and our gardening activities. The crew also filmed us pottering and gardening around the allotment - it was a beautiful sunny day so I'm sure the plot will look great.

Next it was off to the Station House - we managed to fit in a quick lunch - before Triss told them about the creative side of our work.

Yesterday was also a big day for us in another way - we took down our old shed - when I say we - what I really mean is that two of our Heritage group came over and took down our shed along with a little extra help from the gardening group.

It was sad to say goodbye to it BUT we have some great plans as to how we will recycle the panels, which is all I can say at this stage, so please come along to our Preveiw on the Friday 27th October 4pm to 8pm and Open Day on Saturday 28th October 10am to 4pm at the Burnham Museum.

The heritage group met at the allotment gates at 2pm yesterday - our goal was to photograph some of the interesting and occasionally quirky sheds - and we did do this. However and as ever we did get somewhat side tracked.  There were some amazing squashes drying off in the afternoon sun.

Interviews

We have been so lucky over the last couple of weeks, we've been able to interview a few more allotment holders and local residents - the've told us a wealth of information about the allotments. Their stories have been fascinating and a joy to listen to.

The group has spent some of our meet up time talking about the preview event which we've rearranged to take place on the 27th & 28th of October at Burnham museum.  I don't want to give too much away but we are certainly planning to make the exhibition a little unusual and quirky.
